PEPSI x COPA90 -“THE SAUCE”

Every soccer city claims they’ve got the secret sauce, that their food and soccer hit different. So we set out to investigate the unique ingredients of food, fans, and soccer that make each scene uniquely flavorsome and equally impossible to replicate.

Through curiosity, conversation and food, we follow influencer Nicolas Nuvan as he connects with people and communities in a way that feels authentic, unscripted, and deeply human, making him the perfect conduit for exploring the football cultures across this series.

From barbecue sauce for the USA team in Kansas City, to salsa verde for Mexico in Houston, to gochujang for Korea in Los Angeles, chimichurri for Argentina in Miami, and Brazillian molho in New Jersey - we dive deep into the flavors that make the people and national teams.

This is the Sauce: Kansas City

@joeskc made BBQ famous from a gas station. The sauce has been doing the talking ever since. The same city built one of the loudest soccer cultures in the country. Kevin Ellis grew up here, played here, and ate here. #TheSauce #Pepsi #KCBBQ #Ad

This is the Sauce: Houston

@dichostaqueria tacos and the salsa verde Houston puts on everything, always. Not just a condiment, it’s the Sauce. Same roots @divineartco_ turns soccer, art, and community into something the whole city shows up for. #TheSauce #Pepsi #Houston #Ad

This is the Sauce: Los Angeles

@chimmelier Gochujang wings. 500 years of Korean history remixed into something the whole world is chasing. In LA, the pre-game starts here with @lafc_tsg. They are one of the most passionate supporter groups in the city. #TheSauce#Pepsi#LosAngeles#Ad
